Isn’t it amazing when you can get all your gal pals in one room for some drinks and dancing? 

At our Galentine’s event, the girlies turned out in force – and it didn’t matter whether you were in a group or flying solo. ABBA Voyage is a night out for everyone.

“I first came to see ABBA Voyage on my own and had a fabulous time,” says Stylist commercial editor Amie-Jo Locke. “So, to experience this party with friends and colleagues, and then see the concert second time round felt really special, especially as it was Galentine’s too. I think lots of women might feel intimidated by doing something like this alone, but I’m proof that you can do both and still have an amazing experience.”

Not only were there plenty of friendship photo opps within the Oceanbird Lounge, but we spotted plenty of guests taking pics in the exclusive light tunnel just outside the arena. Trust us, you’re going to want one of those pics for the ’Gram.

Another unforgettable part of the evening was the chat that our own Lisa Smosarski had with ABBA Voyage producer Svana Gisla.

Keeping in line with the theme of female friendship and inspirational women, this talk gave guests behind-the-scenes insight about ABBA Voyage and its history, while also hearing more from Gisla about what it takes to stage such an awesome concert.

While guests such as Linda Barker, Keshia East and Angela Scanlon caught up over drinks, the atmosphere was heightened by anticipation for the 7.45 concert.

“ABBA! An evening full of joy,” says Stylist’s head of brand Susan Riley after seeing ABBA Voyage.

“The perfect combination of happy nostalgia from the past mixed with a very modern interpretation of a concert. Loved the lighting and the feel-good positive energy in the arena!”

And, of course, there was the concert itself.

Fusing ground-breaking technology with some of the most iconic pop songs in modern history, our Galentine’s evening culminated in everyone taking to both the dancefloor and the dance booths to enjoy the spectacular ABBA Voyage for themselves.

“It was so lovely seeing everyone unapologetically enjoying themselves at ABBA Voyage,” says Stylist writer Madeleine Bourne.

“Where else can you whack out sequins and blue eyeshadow on a dreary February evening? We spent half the evening staring open-mouthed at the avatars – I still can’t believe they’re not real people – and screeching our favourite ABBA tunes (off-key, naturally). Part karaoke night, part concert, it really was a marriage of two of my favourite things.”

“I loved ABBA Voyage,” adds Stylist Fashion Manager Hayley Roberston. “It was such a fun night, I loved dancing to all the songs, and I couldn’t believe how real the avatars looked – it really felt like we were watching the real ABBA! I don’t think anyone sat down all night!”
