Can’t get enough of your favourite podcasts in your ears? Here’s where you can see them record live this year.
Podcasts: there are more than 3.2 million of them out there, and we all have our favourites. From funny and female-led to grizzly true crime tales, a good podcast makes for perfect company when commuting, working out or simply relaxing. What’s even better, though, is when they record live and we get to experience the action for ourselves, right there in the room.
Over the past few years, big-hitters like Sentimental Garbage, The Receipts and How To Fail have all taken over the country’s various stages. And this year you’ll have a chance to sit in on Closet Confessions and get Best Friend Therapy IRL, alongside a bunch of other audience-enhanced recordings. Here are seven live podcasts to add to your calendar for 2024.
Desert Island Discs Live
The iconic Radio 4 music show is heading to the London Palladium between 25 and 27 March. Expect host Lauren Laverne to be joined by the likes of Katherine Ryan, Sue Perkins, Russell T Davies and more celebrity guests.
Closet Confessions: Live
Fans of Candice Brathwaite and Coco Sarel’s laugh-out-loud podcast won’t want to miss their closet opening its doors to the public in 2024. Come for the candid confessions, stay for the sizzling hot takes.
Best Friend Therapy Live
Best friends for over 25 years, author and broadcaster Elizabeth Day and psychotherapist Emma Reed Turrell are taking their hit podcast to the stage for the first time. The besties will chat about what’s on their minds, inviting you to delve deeper into your own thoughts while having a laugh along the way. Plus, you’ll get a chance to ask all your own burning questions.
Sara and Cariad’s Weirdos Book Club Live
Join Sara Pascoe and Cariad Lloyd for a very special live edition of their bookish podcast celebrating the paperback release of Cariad’s latest book, You Are Not Alone: A New Way to Grieve.
The Blindboy Podcast LIVE
Fancy something a bit different? Described as a “cultural phenomenon” by The New York Times, The Blindboy Podcast is an award-winning storytelling podcast in the Irish tradition of the Seanchaí, which seamlessly intertwines history, fiction, cultural critique and politics into a relaxing form the creator calls “the podcast hug”.
My Therapist Ghosted Me Live
In My Therapist Ghosted Me, Vogue Williams and Joanne McNally join forces for a weekly chat with 100% honesty guaranteed. The duo will be heading out on a UK and Ireland tour throughout 2024, so while tickets aren’t yet available, be sure to sign up for alerts if you want in on the conversation IRL.
Style & City Diaries Live
The award-winning fashion and pop culture podcast hosted by cousins Prinny and Amber is heading to the Union Theatre this April for a one-off live special you won’t want to miss.
