From sinister life coaches to dangerous and bizarre communities, these podcasts explore the deep and murky world of modern day cults.

At a time when every mass murderer, scammer and guru has a dedicated true crime podcast and Netflix series unpicking their motives, it’s safe to say that our obsession with all things crime isn’t going anywhere.

Cults, why people join them and how – or if – they manage to leave has also long been a point of fascination within pop culture, with journalists and directors alike analysing and dismantling the most intoxicating of organisations all for our entertainment. And boy, do they entertain us.

From an introduction to wellness grifters and conspiracy-mad yogis to the deepest of dives into the murders committed by followers of Charlie Manson in the summer of 1969, with these 10 podcasts, you’re sure to find more than one gripping listen.

Across eight gripping episodes, journalist Catrin Nye and her team expose control, intimidation and fear at a mysterious life coaching company taking over people’s lives and ripping families apart.
