Missing You will star Rosalind Eleazar in the lead role as Kat Donovan, a detective specialising in missing persons.
Nothing sets our pulses racing quite like a Netflix thriller, and a Harlan Coben series ticks all our boxes. We’re still mourning the end of Fool Me Once, so imagine our excitement when we learned that Coben’s latest offering, Missing You, has shared the first-look images of the upcoming series.
Scheduled for release in early 2025, Missing You is the latest in a string of successful Netflix-Coben collaborations, with eight previous hits including Stay Close, Safe and The Stranger. The aforementioned Fool Me Once was recently named as the most-viewed TV show on Netflix for the first half of 2024.
Like its hit predecessor, Missing You is being produced by Quay Street Productions (part of ITV Studios) with Harlan Coben serving as executive producer through his Final Twist Productions company.
Here’s everything you need to know about the latest show developments, including a confirmed release date.
What’s the plot of Missing You?
Coben is the king of the thriller, and Missing You has all the hallmarks of another classic.
According to the series synopsis: “Eleven years ago, Detective Kat Donovan’s fiance, Josh, the love of her life, disappeared and she’s never heard from him since. Now, swiping profiles on a dating app, she suddenly sees his face and her world explodes all over again. Josh’s reappearance will force her to dive back into the mystery surrounding her father’s murder and uncover long-buried secrets from her past.”
Who will star in Missing You?
Joining existing cast members Richard Armitage (Fool Me Once, Red Eye), Samantha Spiro (Babs), Jessica Plummer (EastEnders) and Lenny Henry are Top Boy’s Ashley Walters, Stay Close’s James Nesbitt and Busted star Matt Willis.
In true Coben style, the five-part series relocates from the US to the UK, and filming took place in Manchester and the surrounding areas.
