The award-winning pair lead the new decade-spanning romance, We Live In Time, where a surprise encounter could change everything. Here’s everything we know so far.

When Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield appeared at the Oscars together to present the awards for best adapted and original screenplays, fans speculated that they may be collaborating on a new project. Fast forward a few months and they were right. The award-winning actors are set to lead the new decade-spanning romance film, We Live In Time, where a chance encounter could change everything. Falling in love or ultimately breaking up, we’ll soon find out. And the best news? The film is set to be released later this year so we don’t have too long to wait to watch this epic romance.

So, here’s everything we know so far about We Live In Time.

What is the plot of We Live In Time?

Most of the plot is still being kept under wraps but we do know that Florence Pugh plays Almut, a witty, unstoppable chef and Andrew Garfield is Tobias, a recent divorcé finding his way in the world, and their surprise encounter changes their lives. “Through snapshots of their life together – falling for each other, building a home, becoming a family – a difficult truth is revealed that rocks its foundation,” the synopsis reads.

Based on the trailer, the pair met when Almut accidentally hit Tobias with her car. The pair then began a relationship and had a child. The trailer hints that Almut is eventually diagnosed with an illness, and Tobias is left struggling to come to terms with the fact they may be running out of time.

Who stars in We Live In Time?

Adam James (The Suspect), Aoife Hinds (Normal People), Marama Corlett (Blood Drive), and Nikhil Parmar (Gran Turismo) will also feature in the cast. The film is directed by Bafta winner John Crowley, who is best known for Brooklyn and The Goldfinch, and Benedict Cumberbatch serves as an executive producer on the project.
