Wake Up Dead Man will see Daniel Craig return to the twists and turns of Benoit Blanc in his “most dangerous” case yet. Here’s everything we know so far about the third Knives Out film.

The Knives Out mystery films have quickly become firm fan favourites for their eclectic fashion choices, all-star cast ensembles and Daniel Craig’s incredible and hilarious portrayal of Benoit Blanc. We’ve had Chris Evans’ cable-knit jumper, Kate Hudson’s glamorous dresses and of course, Craig’s weird and wonderful accent. And now, it’s been confirmed we’re getting another fun and wild whodunnit.

Sharing the news on social media last year, the Knives Out creator Rian Johnson revealed the title for the third instalment in a short teaser clip. Wake Up Dead Man will see Craig return to the twists and turns of Benoit Blanc in his trickiest case yet.

“In the beginning, the knives came out. Then, behold, the glass was shattered. But my most dangerous case yet is about to be revealed,” narrates Craig in the 45-second teaser video, referencing the first two titles of the franchise, 2019’s Knives Out and 2022’s Glass Onion.

In a post on X, Johnson added: “I love everything about whodunnits, but one of the things I love most is how malleable the genre is. There’s a whole tonal spectrum from Carr to Christie, and getting to explore that range is one of the most exciting things about making Benoit Blanc movies.”

Who will star in Wake Up Dead Man?

The first famous faces to be confirmed as part of the cast were Challengers’ Josh O’Connor and Priscilla’s Cailee Spaeny, whose roles remain undisclosed. And we now know that Andrew Scott, Kerry Washington, Glenn Close, Jeremy Renner and Mila Kunis will also be joining the new Knives Out gang.

When will Wake Up Dead Man be released?

The director confirmed that the third film will be released on Netflix in 2025, so we have a while to wait. And Netflix has confirmed that Wake Up Dead Man will be an autumn release. It’s safe to say we’re excited for yet another murder mystery – and to see Blanc get up to his usual tricks.
