What is MaXXXine about?

Inspired by true events, MaXXXine sees a serial killer dubbed the Night Stalker wreak terror upon Los Angeles, preying upon young women and leaving a trail of blood in their wake.

However, Maxine Minx (the daughter of a fundamentalist Christian preacher turned adult film star) has just landed herself a spot in a low-budget horror sequel and she refuses to let the serial killer ruin her big break.

Will she evade the killer? Might her own dark past come back to haunt her? And why oh why is there a seedy private investigator dogging her every move? Only time will tell, we suppose…

The film already boasts a strong 91% from its first reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, with critics heaping praise on its impeccable style, glittery costumes and smart satire.

“There would be no three movies without Mia [Goth],” Ti West tells Men’s Health.

“I knew from meeting Mia, I was just like, a) she’s perfect for this movie and b) I can’t believe someone hasn’t given her this lead role before me.
