The Room Next Door

Adapted from Sigrid Nunez’s novel What Are You Going Through, this film is a powerful and moving exploration of female friendship, grief and how we cope with death.

Tilda Swinton plays Martha, a former war correspondent now dying of cervical cancer and keen to reconnect with an old friend, Ingrid (Julianne Moore), who has become a writer of acclaimed fiction. Martha and Ingrid were once colleagues at a New York magazine and briefly shared a lover, but they haven’t seen each other in years; until now.
