If you needed yet more evidence that the 00s are truly making a comeback, Lindsay Lohan is not only back on our screens but she’s returned to the world of romcoms. As someone who rewatches Just My Luck and Confessions Of A Teenage Drama Queen on an annual basis, it’s exciting to see Lohan back in this beloved genre.

As part of her two-film Netflix deal (with the first being 2022’s Falling For Christmas), the Mean Girls actor will star in the Freaky Friday-esque film Irish Wish. Here’s everything we know about the romcom, including a first-look image of Lohan’s character.

What’s the plot of Irish Wish?

Always a bridesmaid, never a bride? Well, Maddie (Lohan) knows exactly what this feels like when her best friend gets engaged to the love of her life. Set in the greenery of Ireland, the film sees Maddie attending her best friend’s wedding, where she’s a bridesmaid. However, ahead of the wedding, Maddie makes a wish to find true love and wakes up as the bride-to-be.

As her dream life seems to be coming true, Maddie soon realises that another suitor might be the right match for her… 

Who stars in Irish Wish?

Joining Lohan on the film are Ed Speleers (Outlander, Downton Abbey), Alexander Vlahos (Sanditon, Versailles), Ayesha Curry (About Last Night, A Black Lady Sketch Show), Elizabeth Tan (Emily In Paris) and Jane Seymour (Wedding Crashers).

When will Irish Wish be released?
