This week's live web chat is with Meg Rosoff, author of hit debut novel How I Live Now.

Meg Rosoff is an America born author who has been living in the UK since 1989. Her debut novel How I Live Now won the Guardian Book Prize and Branford Boase Award and was shortlisted for the Orange Prize as well as the Whitbread.

The film adaptation directed by Kevin MacDonald (Last King of Scotland) stars Saoirse Ronan (Atonement; The Lovely Bones) as Daisy, and hits cinemas this October.

After the success of her sensational debut, Meg followed up How I Live Now with four more critically acclaimed novels, including Just in Case which won the prestigious children’s book prize, the Carnegie Medal, in 2007.

Before securing her much publicised first book deal, Meg worked in advertising and as a journalist; was the New York State deputy press officer for the democrats in the 1988 presidential election and had a job writing movie titles and posters for Tristar pictures.

The hugely anticipated Picture Me Gone (released this month) is her sixth book, and has impressed Meg’s loyal fan base, including Stylist’s very own Lucy Mangan, who said: "Picture Me Gone is completely, completely wonderful - beautiful, sad, funny and true, with a heroine who lodges herself in your mind and in your heart as she pieces together the million tiny clues we leave in life about who and what we are."
