Meet the Harry Potter characters like you've never seen them before.

Publisher Scholastic has released four images from the first ever fully illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.

The book, which is the first of J.K. Rowling's bestselling series, is to be published worldwide on 6 October this year.

Carnegie medal-winning illustrator Jim Kay was chosen to illustrate all seven Harry Potter books in full colour and design the new book jacket image.

Harry Potter

The face of Harry Potter was the only image released when the book was announced in 2013.

Ronald Weasley

“He was tall, thin, and gangling, with freckles, big hands and feet, and a long nose.”

Hermoine Granger

“She had a bossy sort of voice, lots of bushy brown hair, and rather large front teeth.”

Hagrid

“He was almost twice as tall as a normal man and at least five times as wide. He looked simply too big to be allowed, and so wild - long tangles of black hair and beard hid most of his face, he had hands the size of dustbin lids and his feat in their leather boots were like baby dolphins.”

Draco Malfoy

“Harry had never believed he would meet a boy he hated more than Dudley, but that was before he met Draco Malfoy.”
