Folding the edges of a brilliant page, underlining a sentence that has touched you, or - if you're reading on a Kindle - highlighting a passage and going back to it a few months later is one of the biggest joys of reading a favourite book.
This week Amazon released a list of the most highlighted passages on the Kindle and Kindle Apps ever.
With millions of customers highlighting millions of book passages that are meaningful to them every month, Amazon have combined the highlights of all Kindle customers and identified the passages with the most highlights.
Most surprisingly, a whopping 19 of the top 25 favourite quotes are from the Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins.
One line from heroine Katniss Everdeen in Catching Fire was highlighted just under 18,000 times, which is almost twice the number of people who highlighted Jane Austen’s famous opening line in Pride and Prejudice.
