Wedding season is upon us, and in between finding the right wedding guest dress and choosing a gorgeous gift for the happy couple, we’re scouring Pinterest for inspiration for our wedding guest nails. 

Summer salon appointments are like gold dust, and special occasions offer the chance to spritz up your regular nails with some seasonal nail art. From fresh fruit nails to Aperol shades, cherry blossom nails (think Hailey Bieber style) or chrome tips, it’s the season for cute, chic nails with an extra special twist. 

Yana Gushina, founder, director and CEO at Browfique, has noticed that with wedding guest nails, many clients are simplifying their choices. “The most requested colour is a neutral pink, which complements any outfit and gives a polished, refined look,” Gushina says, “Vibrant red is also popular. It adds a touch of colour without overpowering your wedding guest ensemble, making it a timeless and classic choice.”

If you’re still deliberating on your outfit, a neutral nail colour might be the shade for you. Elevate your everyday nails to be wedding-ready by adding a high-shine or a micro-French tip in a chrome shade, which is a subtle style that won’t clash with your outfit colour.

“Consider a high-gloss finish or a pearlescent coating for an added touch of elegance,” Gushina adds, “For those wanting to make a bolder statement, cool tones are the trend to follow such as glossy black, chrome silvers and charcoal grey.”

Glazed donut nails and pearlescent shimmer were all the rage in 2023, as were mermaid-inspired, minimalist bridal manicures. Shimmering chrome, opalescent white dots and floral nail art are also a delicate choice for special occasions that don’t detract too much from your outfit.

“For added texture, a matte finish over pearlescent colours creates a gorgeous velvety sheen, adding depth and interest to your manicure,” Gushina says.
