Victoria Beckham’s sell-out beauty line just dropped the nude lip liner we’ve always wanted

When Victoria Beckham’s own make-up line launched last month, some pieces sold out within just 24 hours. Now, we’re predicting the same success for her second drop featuring nude lip liners and a universally-flattering lip tint.

Victoria Beckham has unveiled the second drop in her eponymous make-up range and it’s just what we’ve all been waiting for – a collection inspired by her own trademark nude lip look.

The new line, unveiled yesterday (Tuesday 15 October), stars six different shades of Victoria Beckham Beauty Lip Definer pencils, £18 each, and the matte Victoria Beckham Beauty Bitten Lip Tint in Bisou, £30. The latter comes in just one colour – a sheer rosy hue that promises to lend a wash of just-bitten colour to “complement all skin tones.”

As if a line-up of products celebrating the VB pout wasn’t enough to get us giddy, Beckham treated us to a throwback snap of herself during her Spice Girls days, too. The Instagram post, shared on her own account, showed her applying a brown lip pencil alongside the caption: “Posh likes to use Victoria Beckham Beauty Lip Definer No. 2 + 3. What’s #yourperfectnude? X Kisses VB.”

Over on her beauty brand’s account, she confirmed her Lip Definer in Shade 2 – described as a neutral beige brown for light to medium lip tones – was indeed her go-to hue.

The pencil, in a variety of brown, pink and beige tones, can be used to outline, shape-define and fill in the lips thanks to a waterproof formula that’s spiked with nourishing vitamin E.

But it’s the designer’s Bitten Lip Tint that’s set to get make-up mavens especially excited. Billed as ‘neither a stain nor a gloss,’ it boasts a lightweight gel texture infused with hydrating hyaluronic acid and squalane to ‘visually plump and smooth lips.’

Beckham’s latest creations come exactly a month after she launched her make-up line after over a year of teasing it. Until its official unveiling, every detail was kept under wraps with the star keeping us guessing using hashtags including #CleanBeauty and #NotPerfect. The collection, which was originally lauded as “a unique synergy between the worlds of beauty and fashion,” launched on 14 September to rapturous applause. In fact, it proved so popular that the official Victoria Beckham Beauty Instagram account announced that a couple of items had sold out within just 24 hours.

The first drop was a curated collection of three products spanning numerous colour-ways. The hero of the range was originally Smoky Eye Brick, £48, available in four shades: Signature (VB’s favourite shades for an everyday look), Tuxedo (featuring charcoal hues for a classic smoky eye), Tweed (warm terracotta shades branded as ‘the new neutral’) and Royal (with navy and cobalt shades for a ‘fashion inspired’ eye - and believed to be the shades she wore to Meghan Markle’s wedding).

Each sleek palette has four smooth satin shades housed within, and ‘unique pressing technology’ means maximum product in minimal packaging. According to co-creator Sarah Creal, who spoke to Stylist backstage ahead of Victoria Beckham’s 10th anniversary London Fashion Week show, the amount of each colour in the palettes is dependent of how much you’ll use.

“The darkest shade is slimmest, the base shade is twice the size,” she explained. Plus, it’s completely plastic free. “It’s made of tortoiseshell and brass for an old school, Hollywood feel with a touch of British class,” she added.

Alongside the palettes sit four shades of Lid Lustre, £28 each. “You can layer these on top of the eyeshadows for a wet gleam,” said Creal. “Plus the underneath of the pots is clear in order to save having to check the shade names every time,” she says. Finally, there are three Satin Kajal Liners, £20 each, in black, a shimmery bronze and a matte burgundy.

It’s also worth noting that as well as the clean formulations, rich pigments and sustainable packaging, everything is also tested by dermatologists, as well as being suitable for sensitive skin types and contact lens wearers.

After successfully conquering the world of both music and fashion, we’ve learnt that Victoria Beckham doesn’t do anything by halves and her make-up line is proof of that. So, what’s next? Here’s hoping she’ll share her tools for the VB glow and those impeccable brows…
