The French beauty giant has signed a contract with the Italian fashion house.
From Christian Louboutin to Marc Jacobs, in the past few years we’ve seen more and more fashion brands entering the beauty realm. The latest to expand their offering? Valentino.
Yesterday L’Oreal confirmed that they’d signed a worldwide long-term license agreement with Valentino to create and distribute fine fragrances and luxury beauty for the iconic fashion company.
While Valentino currently create fragrances with Spanish brand Puig - including Donna (for women) and Uomo (for men) - this will be their first foray into the world of cosmetics.
The storied fashion house will certainly be in good hands as L’Oreal’s luxury division already make fragrances and cosmetics for the likes of Giorgio Armani, Yves Saint Laurent and Maison Margiela.
“We are very excited to start this new venture together with L’Oréal to further develop our beauty business. We believe Valentino has great potential within the category and that with L’Oréal’s unparalleled expertise in the sector, we will be able to realize that potential,” Stefano Sassi, CEO of Valentino, said.
Famed for their show-stopping red carpet gowns, covetable leather accessories and cult footwear, we’re excited to see how L’Oreal will interpret Pierpaolo Piccioli’s vision.
