Getting your bob to look chic has never been so easy. Here’s everything you need to know about the latest ‘tucked bob’ hair trend.
The reign of the bob haircut is yet to ease up. Whether it’s the ‘Italian bob’, the ‘banged bob’ or the ‘laser cut’ – there’s a version of the trendy haircut that will suit your face shape and hair type. There is really no excuse not to book in for a chop.
We may talk about specific haircuts surrounding this cropped look, but how to style it is a whole other topic. Whether you’ve gone for an ear-length bob or a lob (a long bob), this latest styling trick suits all short hair lengths and can give the illusion of fuller-looking hair and help to emphasise your cheekbones. Welcome to the ‘tucked bob’. Simple, effortless and low maintenance, it’s the easiest hair hack we’ve heard of to date.
So what exactly counts as a ‘tucked bob’? “A bob haircut that is either one length or lightly layered, secured behind one or both ears,” says hairstylist Tom Smith.
“If you want to accentuate your cheekbones or elongate the face, this is the trending hairstyle for you,” he says. The good news? If you’ve already gone for the chop, this is as simple as hairstyles come when achieving it at home. “Loads of celebrities have been seen wearing their bob tucked behind one or both ears. It’s a really great trick to make the hair look more groomed, increase the look of thickness and add more polish, due to how it gathers the hair up,” explains Smith. Hair trends don’t get any simpler, folks.
Smith’s top tip for keeping this hairstyle in place? “Try sliding a secret hairpin behind the ear or a mini ponytail underneath with a clear hair bobble to help it stay secure,” he says.
