Foundation
What is your favourite foundation?
I think my fave foundations are Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua, Rimmel Wake Me Up, Jemma Kidd Light As Air, Nars Sheer Glow, Chantecaille Just Skin... I can't think of any more on the spot!
Which out of the two foundations do you prefer Bourjois Healthy Mix or Rimmel Wake Me Up?
I prefer Rimmel Wake Me Up, it's seriously amazing! It gives your skin such a glow whist covering any imperfections.
What would be the best make up foundation if you have got some nagging pimples and are worried about clogging them?
First you need to address the blemishes and use something like the Pure and Clear anti-blemish skincare range which is my favourite for dealing with blemishes, then go on with the Clinique anti-blemish solutions foundation, which is fantastic.
I have been on the perfect foundation quest for months to no success, what would you advise for dry, skin prone to spots? I am looking for medium to full coverage, and a dewy, glowing finish.
Try the Clinique Supermoisture foundation, it's fantastic on dry skin.
Skincare
I am extremely pale but my face is always red from spots and oils. I have tried the lightest colour foundations and a shade darker but they will not cover the redness with concealer. Can you help me please?
Try using the Pure and Clear skincare range to help with the blemishes and redness, then go on with a yellow toned foundation as that will help to counteract the red in your skin.
I have super super sensitive skin and also suffer from hormonal problems so am very prone to bad spots. What are your best cover-up recommendations? I've stopped wearing liquid foundation which has helped massively but powder ones just don't have the coverage!
I would recommend you use a mineral powder, the Laura Mercier one is quite pricey but has amazing coverage.
Just wondering what you think is a good tinted moisturiser for oily/combination skin? I've tried out the Benefit You Rebel one but it's not really right for me. Any recommendations?
Try an oil free one! I know Laura Mercier do one.
I don't use powder and I want to start using but I'm afraid that it's going to look like I'm using too much make-up and it's going to be bad for my skin... what do you think?
Don't be afraid of powder, you just need to use a very small amount of it! I would recommend Rimmel Stay Matte powder.
General make-up tips
What do you think is the most complimentary colour shadow to wear to make brown eyes look a little more interesting and not so dark?
The best eyeshadow for brown eyes is purple I think! It's also great as it's such a pretty wearable colour.
I'm terrible at applying blusher. I've tried everything from powders to creams, and I use a big brush as everyone says to get a more natural glow, but it always appears patchy or makes me look out of breath from running up a flight of stairs! Any tips you have would be great.
Applying blusher is one of those things that is easy to do as soon as you know how, I would suggest watching one of my video tutorials as I apply blush in all of them - and it will be easier to explain on video than it is to explain in text form! Here is my latest tutorial.
Can you recommend a good bronzer for blondes/fair skin that doesn't break the bank?
Clinique do a great bronzer for blondes, it is really light and I am pretty sure it's about £20.
What do you use to clean your make brushes? And also I am looking to invest in some mac brushes, can you recommend the best ones to get?
I use the MAC brush cleanser and I think the best MAC eye brushes are the 217, 239 and 266
What's your best solution for under-eye bags? Literally nothing I uses works... is it really worth a big investment in order to get it right?
I swear by the Bobbi Brown Correctors for covering under eye circles, go to a BB counter and they will help you.
What is the best volumising mascara?
Recently I have been loving the Maybelline Falsies Volume Express mascara, it's so volumising!
I have just made 'the switch' from 30's to 40's - what do I need to do differently NOW?
Don't panic! There won't be a sudden difference in your skin just because you are a year older. Just make sure you are using really hydrating serums and moisturisers - I would highly recommend Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair. For makeup, use a tinted moisturiser rather than foundation for a glowing youthful look.
Running a YouTube channel
How did you begin your YouTube masterclasses in the first place - and how did you make it such a success?
People always ask how I made my YouTube channel a success but I don't really know! I think I am just myself on camera and people can relate to that, and I try to make my videos as helpful as possible.
What do you think makes your channel and vids so watchable? And what advice would you have for anyone else looking to get into establishing their own video presence?
I think people like to watch my channel just because I am so personal and honest in my videos, I would advise you to just be yourself!
