Sunset blusher is currently trending, here’s how to get the look IRL…

I’ve said it before, but I really do believe that blusher is probably the most underrated product in your make-up bag. Why? Because a great cream blusher can boost your skin’s radiance like nothing else – leaving you with a dewy, healthy glow as if lit from within. And this is where the sunset blusher make-up trend comes in: combining different shades of blusher with a liquid highlighter to give you a sunset gradient that really does glow.

While it might sound confusing, the sunset blusher make-up trend is actually super easy to pull off, as you can either ramp it up or keep it as subtle and sheer as you like. All you need is three products: a pink or rose-toned blusher, a coral or peachy-toned blusher and a liquid highlighter.

First, apply the pink blusher at the top of your cheekbone, closest to the hairline. Next, apply the peach-toned blusher towards the apple of your cheek and finally add a touch of liquid highlighter above both blusher placements. Blend together and you’re left with a gorgeously golden gradient – mimicking that of a sunset.

The trend has blown up on social media after Alissa Holmes (aka @AlissaJanay) shared her sunset blush tutorial on TikTok – a video which has now received over 8.3 million views.

Want to recreate the look? We’ve rounded up our favourite cream blusher and liquid highlighter products which, when used together, give your skin that hazy, late summer evening golden hour glow…
