Consider early spring and the lead up to summer the perfect time to seek out a new scent.
Is it just us or has this winter felt like the longest on record? The dark days combined with the cold and unpredictable weather have felt relentless, but finally – finally! – it’s almost time for the clocks to go forward. And in our book, that basically means spring has finally sprung and summer is on its way – right?
So, to help you prepare for the much-anticipated (and long-awaited) balmy pub garden evenings and that unrivalled feeling of the warmth of the sun hitting your bare skin, there’s nothing we recommend more than treating yourself to a summery fragrance. Y’know, just to really get you in the mood.

Whether you’re a floral kinda girl, or if you prefer something sexier or sweeter, or maybe you’re into a more subtle, barely there skin scent, there are so many new perfumes out there that’ll brighten your mood and get you ready for the change in seasons.
Here’s a few of our favourites that are worth sniffing out.
Phlur Solar Power
The newest launch from Phlur, aka the brand behind viral sell-out scent Missing Person, Solar Power creates the illusion of salty, sunkissed skin. A musky floral with notes of red mandarin, bergamot, jasmine and driftwood – we can’t get enough.
Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 + Black Tea
If you prefer earthier scents, Molecule 01 + Black Tea could be the one for you. It combines fresh florals with interesting smoky, leathery black tea notes to create something that’s as suitable for daytime as it is the evening.
Shop Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 + Black Tea at Cult Beauty, £95
Ferragamo Signorina Libera
With its summery yellow packaging, Ferragamo’s Signorina Libera (which translates as ‘free’) has notes of pear and bergamot alongside cashmere woods, ambroxan and pink sugar that smell good enough to eat (but please don’t).
Jimmy Choo Rose Passion
Staying true to the Jimmy Choo ethos, Rose Passion is the ultimate gourmand and will instantly transport you to a sunny beach somewhere in the Caribbean, pina colada in hand – and it’s all thanks to the notes of frangipani, coconut milk and vanilla.
Jo Malone London Osmanthus Blossom Cologne
Part of a new spring-inspired collection of previously launched scents from over the years Osmanthus Blossom Cologne was first released in 2013 and is our stand-out favourite.
Apricot and warm suede notes combined with orange blossom and cashmere wood sit beautifully on skin.
Shop Jo Malone London Osmanthus Blossom Cologne at Jo Malone London, £82
Ted Baker London Polly
Part of a range of floral-inspired scents by Ted Baker, Polly is a light, skin-like scent that smells of red berries, jasmine and honeysuckle. Musk and amber notes add a cosy element that helps its longevity.
Maison Margiela Replica On a Date
As far as we’re concerned, Maison Margiela can do no wrong on the perfume front: its latest launch, On a Date, is perfect for late summer days: a fruity floral-inspired scent, its notes of blackcurrant, bergamot oil and pink pepper alongside rose are reminiscent of a wine-fuelled evening.
