The brand behind the iconic Brazillian Bum Bum Cream has launched SPF and it’s a game-changer…

If you’re into your beauty products, chances are you’ll already be familiar with Sol de Janeiro’s Brazilian Bum Bum Cream. First launched in 2015, the skin-nourishing formula is packed with Amazonian ingredients – including cupuaçu butter, antioxidant açaí and conditioning coconut oil. Teamed with the addictive holiday-worthy scent, a little yellow tub of Brazilian Bum Bum Cream now sells every six seconds globally, becoming one of the most-popular bodycare products on the market.

Having pretty much perfected its body care offering, the brand has now expanded into sun care with its latest launch, Rio Radiance.

There are three formulas in the range: Rio Radiance SPF50 Body Lotion, Rio Radiance SPF50 Body Spray, and Rio Radiance SPF50 Body Oil – all offering broad spectrum SPF50 coverage. With a recent survey carried out by Face The Future revealing that only 22% of the UK applies  SPF daily, finding an SPF you actually want to apply is key – and I personally think Sol de Janeiro has nailed the brief.

As you’d expect with Sol de Janeiro, the formulas smell incredible. Coconut, tuberose, vanilla and creamy amber melt together for a holiday fragrance that gets all the compliments. Plus, the formula is packed with brightening niacinamide, nourishing cupuaçu butter, hydrating coconut water and antioxidant-rich pongamia seed to further protect the skin against environmental aggressors.

I recently took all three products on holiday to Italy to give them a real road-test and trust me, they tick all the boxes…

The most convenient to apply has to be the Rio Radiance Body Spray. It’s lightweight, sinks in quickly and leaves your skin with a hydrated sheen, without a greasy feel. I kept this in my beach bag at all times for on-the-go application top-ups and its cooling-sensation was seriously refreshing.

If you’re someone who likes your skin to glow, the radiance oil is for you. It sinks in almost instantly, giving a serious dewiness to your skin that looks and feels silky soft. In fact, I even found myself applying this to my arms and legs in the evening as a scented body oil. Obsessed.

For the classic body lotion lovers, this is the one for you. While some suncreams can feel heavy and sticky on application, this somehow manages to swerve that feeling. Don’t get me wrong, you’ll want to wait 30-seconds before pulling up your denim shorts but once it’s sunk-in it’s almost undetectable on the skin.
