Dior has a new (and very iconic) muse to embody the world of J’Adore. Here’s everything you need to know, plus a first-look at the exciting campaign…

Dior has announced Rihanna as the new muse of J’Adore in a partnership that has set the beauty industry abuzz with excitement – and our first look at the campaign has officially dropped.

Over the past two decades, the renowned J’Adore fragrance has become a symbol for women seeking a scent that encapsulates power and independence – making this the perfect partnership. Even more exciting, Rihanna’s role as the Dior J’Adore muse has seen her team up with her long-time friend and celebrated photographer Steven Klein to bring the campaign to life.

This includes a stunning image, in which a glistening Rihanna wears a gorgeous golden pearl necklace created by Maria Grazia Chiuri, creative director at Dior womenswear. It’s a reinvention of the celebrated golden necklace while still being reminiscent of – and paying tribute to – the distinctive J’Adore bottle.

The campaign will include a much-anticipated film advertisement for TV, also shot by Klein. But we’ll have to wait a bit longer to see it as it’s not due for release until 1 September. Expect to see Versailles, the hall of mirrors and a golden gown embroidered with pale sequins – also created by Chiuri.

Speaking about her new role, Rihanna said: “Being the new face of J’Adore is both an honour and a mission. This scent, that I have known and loved for so long, means so much to women. I am especially looking forward to joining this adventure and contributing to it through my world, my story, my roots, as well as my creativity and my own femininity.”

Véronique Courtois, CEO of Parfums Christian Dior, added: “We are incredibly proud to welcome Rihanna into the Dior family. Her golden dream promises to be unique, reflecting a fragrance that is present for women and retains its radiance. The unusual talent, audacity and captivating beauty of this absolute star are the ideal embodiment of dazzling, powerful Dior femininity that transcends generations. Christian Dior would most definitely have adored her.”

In line with the campaign, Dior will be releasing two new sizes of its L’Or de J’Adore fragrance, created by legendary perfumer and creation director at Parfums Christian Dior, Francis Kurkdjian. The scent will now be available in new 35ml and 80ml versions, alongside the existing 50ml bottle.

For those who are yet to try it, expect floral notes of orange blossom absolute, jasmine grandiflorum absolute and centifolia rose absolute, all of which combine for a scent that’s fresh, feminine and warm. If it’s good enough for Rihanna…
