When it comes to finding out what’s in other people’s make-up bags, and what skincare products people (read: celebrities) use and swear by, the Stylist beauty team just can’t get enough.

It might be the voyeuristic nature of rummaging around somebody’s bathroom cabinet or simply just because we’re seriously nosy, but, either way, it’s one of our favourite past times.

So, when Reese Witherspoon – actress, producer, entrepreneur and generally just somebody we want to be best friends with – spoke about the cleanser she takes with her when she’s travelling, we paid attention. And when we discovered it was an affordable, high-street cleanser, our interest piqued even more.

Speaking to Refinery 29 US, Witherspoon revealed that she uses Cetaphil. “I love the face wash and I travel with it,” she said.

The brand’s Daily Facial Cleanser, £12.58 is a low-foaming, gentle cleanser that works to remove make-up, dirt, SPF and surface oils without leaving skin feeling dry or tight. It’s also non-comedogenic, meaning it won’t clog pores.

Not only is it a super affordable yet seriously effective product, it’s also one that’s loved and regularly recommended by dermatologists. 

It’s soap and fragrance-free, which means it won’t strip the skin or damage the barrier, and it makes it suitable for even the most sensitive of skin types.

Cetaphil is also a favourite amongst other celebirites including Olivia Wilde, Zoe Saldana (who says the cleanser is one of her most trusted skincare products). Claire Danes and Charlize Theron have spoken out about loving it, too.

If it’s good enough for some of Hollywood’s most famous A-Listers then, really, it’s good enough for us.
