More and more beauty brands are teaming up with fashion houses to bring designer labels directly to our make-up bags. Here’s the latest collaboration we can’t wait to get our hands on…

There’s been a movement within the beauty world which is allowing us all to carry a little slice of designer labels in our make-up bag.

Increasing numbers of fashion houses are teaming up with our favourite beauty brands to bring us dreamy compacts and lip products – for a luxe feel without the eye-watering price tag.

Last year saw L’Oréal Paris team up with Balmain to create 12 glamorous lipsticks, while earlier this year NARS collaborated with Erdem for the dreamiest make-up packaging we’ve ever seen.

Now, Lancôme is the latest brand to get a fashionable makeover – and this time, it’s at the hands of Proenza Schouler.

The one-off collection, which is due to hit John Lewis exclusively on 1 August, is a carefully curated selection of products from vibrant eyeshadow palettes to luxurious cushion highlighters.

Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, who established Prozena Schouler in 2002, described the collection as “strong, graphic and ultra-pigmented”.

They explained that colour was at the forefront of their minds while creating the range, saying: “We wanted strong shades and bold strokes.”

And they definitely achieved that. The entire collection is decorated with eye-catching shades, including bright fuchsias, rich cobalts and refreshing oranges.

Additionally, McCollough and Hernandez wanted to pay homage to Lancôme’s history, so they reworked the brand’s long-standing emblem: the rose.

As for the products themselves, Lancôme describes the collection as “ultra-matte formulations” that were designed to let customers try their hand at graphic colour-blocking.

The result is a line-up of gorgeous, bold and modern make-up that is sure to give you a boost of confidence with a simple swipe of lipstick.

Unfortunately, we have to wait until 1 August until we can get our hands on a piece of the range but we’ll be marking the date in our diaries.
