Our nail game is at an all-time high this summer, and one of our favourite trends is pearlescent nails.

If you’ve already tried the aperol nail, sported the tenniscore-inspired lemon nail or you’re a seasoned favourite of the chrome nail, it might be time to try this chic option that can elevate your looks.

Similar to Hailey Bieber’s viral glazed donut nails, pearlescent nails have a shimmery finish to resemble the surface of a pearl.

Juanita Huber-Millet, Founder & Creative Director of Townhouse explains: “The iridescent sheen can be achieved by using special chrome powders which are applied over a base coat creating a multi-dimensional and shimmering finish look.”

These elegant nails are ideal for those extra special dates in your diary such as weddings, parties and holidays, for an extra touch of glamour that could even be matched with your accessories.

At your next salon appointment, Huber-Millet says to ask for ‘Chrome Finish Nails’ and be sure to show a photograph or explain your desired finish as this will change the colour of the polish they use.

“For instance, a milky white base with pearlescent powder creates a classic, ethereal effect, while a pink or nude base offers a more modern, chic vibe,” Huber-Millet says.
