Founded by renowned DJ duo Simi and Haze, this sleek beauty brand has been making noise since its launch in 2021, so Stylist had to put its make-up line to the test.

With products described as providing ‘suede’ finishes with ‘melting’ textures, Simihaze Beauty had me intrigued from the get-go. The sleek, aesthetically pleasing packaging that looks worthy of being in the Louvre might have won the internet over, but I was keen to see if the velvety formulas were worthy of the hype the cool-girl beauty brand has created.

Simihaze Beauty is the brainchild of sisters and DJ duo Simi and Haze, and it has been disrupting the beauty scene since 2021. Promising a ‘second skin’ feel once applied, these creamy textures are airy, pigmented and natural-looking, to give you a pop of colour without looking too ‘done’.

If you’re a ‘no make-up make-up’ lover who wants to bring some pops of colour into your routine, this is going to be your ideal product line-up.

Just looking at the colourful balms has you itching to play with their cloud-like, dewy formulas, which is why I was keen to put Simihaze Beauty through its paces. From the Velvet Blur Matte Lipstick Balm to the Lip and Cheek Pigment, here’s my review of the trendy make-up line after putting their products to the test on my skin.

My Simihaze Beauty review

Simihaze Beauty Skin Suede Melting Bronze Balm

Simihaze Beauty Skin Suede Melting Bronze Balm

Upon first glance, the texture of this dewy balm looked like a corkboard, so I was sceptical of how hydrating and blendable it was going to be on my skin. However, this is a prime example of not judging a book by its cover.

Super creamy, this is essentially a beachy holiday in pot format. The natural warmth it adds to my skin is glowy and perfectly sculpts my cheeks. It’s the opposite of cakey but doesn’t compromise on pigment. I can see myself chucking this in my bag as a one-and-done bronzer.

Simihaze Beauty Solar Tint Blush Duo

Simihaze Beauty Solar Tint Blush Duo

Unlike all the other complexion products in the range, this is not one you twist to open (I learned this the hard way). Instead, it’s a blush duo in a compact – complete with mirror – format. On one side, you have a matte finish, and on the other, a glossy option, both in blushes of similar tones.

It might seem a bit OTT to have two blushes in different formats, but they provide totally different effects. I use the velvety option for a burnt cheeks effect, while the shiny option delivers a subtler pigment that adds a dewy, plumped finish. Layer on top of each other or on their own – either way, you’re left with a natural flush.

Simihaze Beauty Velvet Blur Matte Lipstick Balm

Simihaze Beauty Velvet Blur Matte Lipstick Balm

I’m not precise enough for a dark, carved-out lipstick, so this blurring matte balm was calling my name. The rounded bullet allows for quick application that’s not too clear-cut.

I thought the balm would be subtle, but these don’t skimp on pigment and deliver a bold lip look. It nails the blurred lipstick effect with minimal effort. However, hydrating, they are not. So, if you’ve got chronically dry lips, I’d avoid without first using a lip balm as a base.

Simihaze Beauty Colour Glaze Lip and Cheek Pigment

Simihaze Beauty Colour Glaze Lip and Cheek Pigment

This combines the pigment and glossiness of the Solar Tint Blush Duo into one dinky pot. You can build up the shade from sheer to a deep hue in just a few taps, leaving skin with a dewy finish.

Due to the buttery sheen they deliver, these aren’t the most long-lasting, but I love the effortless look they provide. Plus, I’ve used them as a lip, cheek and eyeshadow, so these little paint pots are incredibly versatile.

Simihaze Beauty Hydra Melt Dewy Skin Balm

Simihaze Beauty Hydra Melt Dewy Skin Balm

This glazed doughnut finish in product form delivers cheekbones with shine, with no glitter or pearlescence in sight. It’s essentially a clear lipgloss for your skin.

If you want to look like you’ve just had a facial, this is a no-frills option that looks natural. However, if you’re on the oilier side, this might be too hydrating.

Simihaze Beauty Easy Lash Clean Lift Mascara

Simihaze Beauty Easy Lash Clean Lift Mascara

I was so excited by the colour products in this make-up range that the brand’s one and only mascara fell off my radar a bit, but this is not one to miss out on. If you like spidery, long lashes with definition, minus any clumpiness or thickness, this will be right up your street.

Its gel-creme tubing formula doesn’t smudge or flake, while the triangle-curved brush gives lashes a much-needed lift. You’re guaranteed a fluttery set with this foolproof mascara.
