Beauty trends come and go but 2024’s messy grunge make-up is the imperfect beauty trend we can’t get enough of…
When it comes to make-up, we often fall into two camps: those who love to experiment with coloured liners, feathered brows and bold blushers and those of us who’ve been wearing the same five make-up products for the past nine years. If you’re someone who rarely experiments with their make-up ‘look’, hear us out – because the messy grunge make-up trend might just be one you can get on board with.
Messy grunge make-up is currently doing the rounds on social media and we’re rather into this one. Subtle and seriously wearable, this trend champions having a slightly imperfect feel – keeping skin dewy and fresh but letting your eyes be a little bit messy, smudged and smoky-looking.
Plus, it’s seriously easy to recreate and you don’t need tons of product or skill. For a wearable look, keep your foundation dewy and line your eyes with a creamy kohl liner. Then, use your fingers or a brush to slightly smudge out the pigment – giving it that 90s grunge feel. Finish off with a soft nude lip and you’re good to go. It’s easy, wearable and you don’t have to worry about things getting messed up when you’re sweating on the Victoria line come 6pm. Bingo.
