When it comes to foundation, there’s a lot to consider. Alongside a good shade match, you want to look at how the finish works for your skin type, its longevity, coverage, whether it oxidises and how best to apply.

Studio Fix Fluid has always been marketed as a ‘soft-matte’ foundation. While I love a matte formula from time-to-time, this one doesn’t flatten my complexion. Instead, it manages to mattify areas of my oily complexion while still maintaining a natural glow and dimension in my face. It’s also very long lasting. On my wedding, it stayed put throughout an outdoor ceremony, lunch and evening reception, which involved hours of bhangra dancing.

I’m a huge fan of its coverage, too. On the medium side, one and a half pumps is enough to even out your complexion and cancel out any dark spots. It builds beautifully for those who want higher coverage without going cakey. But also, half a pump mixed into a dollop of moisturiser makes for the perfect subtle skin tint. The flexible formulation means it also applies seamlessly, no matter whether you use a brush, sponge or your fingers.

Of course, I’ve come across multiple foundations that I love throughout the years. But this one will always be my ultimate go-to.
