Millennials, rejoice! The Grammys red carpet confirmed eyeliner is having a revival

There’s no denying that eyeliner’s much-awaited comeback was the beauty trend of the night.
While Gen Z might be trying to cancel mascara over on TikTok, it seems the 2025 Grammys red carpet came through to resurrect one millennial-approved beauty trend: eyeliner.
Yes, the eye sculptor we all know and love was back in full force, with the likes of Miley Cyrus, Charli Xcx and Taylor Swift sporting the trend (no surprise there, we admit). From smoked-out kohl liner to a precise feline flick, the make-up product was used in all its forms to celebrate the biggest night in music.
If you’re ready to embrace the 00s eyeliner revival in all its glory, we’ve rounded up the best eye looks from the Grammys red carpet for some major inspiration. Ready, set, sketch…
Gracie Abrams
Gracie Abrams may have stepped out onto the red carpet sans foundation, but this make-up is by no means minimalistic thanks to this defined eyeliner look.
Charli xcx
Eyeliner is now Brat, which is music to our ears…
Olivia Rodrigo
Olivia’s winged liner is almost a staple at this point, so we’re happy to see one Gen Z celeb who’s keeping the cat eye alive.
Miley Cyrus
Miley may have surprised us by debuting a jellyfish haircut on the night but the graphic winged liner she was sporting was less of a shock.
Doechii
One of the biggest stars on the night, Doechii uses our go-to eye product to emphasise her enviable feline shape.
Chappell Roan
Chappell Roan’s take on the eyeliner trend can only be described as art.
Victoria Monét
Winged liner and a minty eyeshadow? This look ticks all our 00s make-up boxes.
Taylor Swift
At this point we’d be alarmed if we didn’t see Taylor sporting her signature feline flick.
