Fashion week always brings about some shock surprises. And, while we’re still reeling from London’s biggest moments, Paris is coming… and with one major on-schedule difference.

On 30 September, L’Oreal Paris will host the world’s first-ever fashion show where models will literally walk on water, via a specially constructed 60m catwalk on the river Seine.

Titled “Le Défilé L’Oréal Paris” (which translates to The Parade of L’Oreal Paris), the show will see top models – including like Duckie Thot and Doutzen Kroes – wearing garments from show partners Chopard, Balmain, Elie Saab, Giambattista Valli and Off White.

Meanwhile, the legendary Val Garland will be backstage, creating the beauty looks that will define next year’s biggest trends.

L’Oreal will be pausing all boat traffic from 2pm for the show while 420 VIPs will be seated to watch the floating spectacle. For the first time, though, fashion lovers will be able to catch a glimpse of the action, as there are 200,000 spaces for the public on the Seine river bank, but if you’re not lucky enough to be there, you can watch the show live on the L’Oreal Paris UK Facebook page or via @lorealmakeup on Instagram. 

It’s the second time the beauty brand has taken over the capital during PFW. Last year, they held the first ever catwalk on the Champs-Élysées with their star ambassadors Eva Longoria and Cheryl walking.

There’s been no confirmation of the definitive line-up for the show yet, but as always with L’Oreal, there’s bound to be some huge surprises.
