No-one does holiday glamour like supermodel Kate Moss, the new face (and body) of St Tropez. Stylist talks inspirations and beauty routines with fashion’s ultimate muse.

What’s your morning beauty routine? Any advice for us?

If I wake up looking tired and puffy, I fill a sink with ice and cucumber and submerge my face. It tightens everything making you look and feel instantly awake. It is a bit Joan Crawford – but it works!

You’ve travelled the globe many times over. What’s your foolproof tip for beach-ready skin?

I exfoliate with a body scrub beforehand to ensure I get a good even tan. I always use SPF and I do plenty of Pilates before I get there.

Who is your ultimate beauty icon?

I’m into that glamorous Studio 54, ultra-glam era. Like Jerry Hall. I love that Seventies girl who was sexy – she had the hair, the lipstick and the all-round glamour; they were ready for anything – most importantly, a good time.

What’s your biggest inspiration?

I love photographic books. Especially those about houses and gardens. Also music, I was watching The Rolling Stones films which are quite inspiring and all of a sudden I was finding tasselled leather jackets in my wardrobe – very Mick Jagger. David Bowie also really inspires me. I love old films and movie stars, I’d love to look like Veronica Lake.

You’ve had an iconic career to date, but is there anything you’d still like to achieve?

I have had a go at singing in the past with Bobby Gillespie [from Primal Scream] and Jason Spaceman for Spiritualized. It was really fun doing it, but I don’t think I will ever be in the charts! You don’t know though, never say never. But singing isn’t a focus for me. Fashionwise, I have been so fortunate to work with the best photographers. But there’s one man I’d love to work with, Spanish photographer Javier Vallhonrat. I adore his pictures.
