From Gigi Hadid to Sydney Sweeney, bob haircuts reigned supreme at this year’s Met Gala…
If your morning has also been spent scrolling through last night’s Met Gala looks, you’ll have already seen the best fashion moments.
But, what trends emerged for beauty enthusiasts? This year’s theme, Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion, served us some serious hair inspiration, and you can bet it will come trickling through in hair trends for the rest of spring and summer.
While there were plenty of whimsical waves that made us want to dig out our mermaid hair tool, bob haircuts reigned supreme at 2024’s Met Gala, proving that this really is the year of the bob and the cropped hair look is going nowhere.
From the soft feathered bob and high-fashion hydro bob to longer lob styles, celebrities including Gigi Hadid, Elle Fanning and Sydney Sweeney looked incredible with their new haircuts.
Looking for some inspiration? You’ve come to the right place…
Sydney Sweeney’s black bob transformation
Hairstylist Glen Oropeza transformed Sydney Sweeney’s signature blonde hair for a jet-black, textured bob. When asked if it was a wig by Variety, Sweeney replied: “I’ll never tell – you’ll find out tomorrow.”
Michelle Yeoh’s side-part bob
Another hydro bob look, Michelle Yeoh’s blunt and wavy bob is ticking all the trend boxes. Flipped over with a side-parting, it’s a great, wearable length if you’re thinking of going for the chop.
Adut Akech’s blunt bob
If you want something striking, then look no further than Adut Akech’s blunt bob. The precision cut could be measured with a spirit level it’s that sharp.
Elle Fanning’s wavy lob
Whimsical and low-key, Elle Fanning’s wavy lob is a gorgeous, wearable length for anyone considering the transition from long to short.
Gigi Hadid’s Hollywood bob
Full of body, curls and ultra-sleek style, we’re obsessed with Gigi Hadid’s Hollywood bob.
