Where Erdem’s hair looks complemented the runway looks, Jonathan Anderson’s collection, which features clothes he refers to as “modern prettiness” was tempered by natural beauty looks. His collection, a showcase of sculptural shapes, proportion play and short hemlines was full of satin, knitwear and leather with a sprinkle of lace on the plunging v-necklines. Minimal make-up and naturally wavy hair, parted in the middle, added an effortless element to the experimental fashion on display.

Under Anthony Turner’s guidance, each model was styled to enhance their own individual features and in order to celebrate their uniqueness, using Schwarzkopf’s Session Label product range. When discussing the show backstage, Anthony said: “A brilliant thing that I am seeing more as a hairstylist as the seasons go on, is that we are seeing a greater variety of haircuts on the runway… lots of short bobs and shorter styles.”

In terms of the products used, he explains, “a few of the ladies had their hair pulled back to add more variety on the runway, and for this I used The Definer, £14.99, as I wanted the hair to look very smooth, sleek, and with no frizz, but I also didn’t want to use heat. What this curl cream allows me to do is to lock all the shine and smoothness in. For the remaining styles, we used Session Label’s The Thickener £17.99 to flatten the hair down on top but still give some volume underneath. I would spray this on the roots and drag the product through with my fingers. Finally, I used a bit of The Coat hairspray, £18.99 to tidy any flyways.”

Sleek, polished and boyish, bobs get an update at London Fashion Week
