We saw neat, gelled, pushed-back bobs at Roksanda; elevated natural bobs at Erdem and powerful, retro bobs at SS Daley – all confirming just how versatile the style of the moment is.

London has long been a melting pot for creativity, and as the city hosted the seasonal London Fashion Week showcase, we witnessed more brilliant talent from designers, hairstylists, make-up artists and set designers. As always, the inimitable fashion collections were a triumph, but so too were the hair looks that accompanied them. What’s more, they showcased new ways to style our favourite haircut: the versatile bob.

Halley Brisker, Olaplex’s global ambassador, says: “London tends to be about a more demure, subtle finish with soft textures. There’s a feeling of quiet luxury with bob styles. Right now, cappuccino and caramel tones are trending with soft, face-framing lightening, so expect to see that too.”

All of our favourite shows featured models with bobs: sleek, wet-look hair was the mood at Roksanda; elevated effortless bobs ruled at Erdem; and powerful, pushed-back bobs were the order of the day at SS Daley.

Anna Cofone is the global creative advocate for Authentic Beauty Concept and one of the most in-demand hair stylists, working with clients that include Lana Del Rey and at shows in New York, London and Paris. She was the hair lead on three of the most exciting shows at London Fashion Week and talks us through how she brought the designers’ visions to life and how to recreate the looks.

Cofone has earned her reputation for creating effortlessly chic and timeless styles, and her hair for Roksanda was elegant, glossy and perfect for evenings.

Roksanda’s latest collection showcased bold and exaggerated shapes with striking colours, textures and patterns, but a quieter, more fragile femininity was evident in other pieces. “Drawing inspiration from sculptor Phyllida Barlow, the hair for the show was designed with a mix of textures to reflect both control and graphic structure while also embracing fragility and sensibility. We wanted the hair to be a continuation of last season’s concept—pushed-back, sleek, and contained—while introducing elements of texture,” Cofone says.

The gelled, pushed-back effect was created using Authentic Beauty Concept’s Cosmic Blowdry Jelly, a versatile styling jelly perfect for sleek wet-look styles. This was used to slick hair back in a square shape using a wide-tooth comb before the sides were set with a diffuser. Depending on hair type, the Hydrate Spray Conditioner or Flawless Primer was then applied to create natural texture through mid-lengths and ends using fingers to twist and press product into the hair to encourage movement.

Erdem

Erdem’s autumn/winter 2025 collection was held in the British Museum and featured works from the artist Kaye Donachie. The brand created a collection infused with dreamy, painterly floral prints and intricate embellishments, featuring delicate patterns and luxurious fabrics to reimagine archetypal feminine silhouettes with a modern, ethereal touch.

Explaining the hair inspiration, Cofone says: “Erdem’s collection is a masterful play of beautiful patterns and sculptural shapes with exaggerated silhouettes. This allows the hair to remain simple –pared back yet elevated, polished and effortlessly chic. Each model embodies strength and confidence, looking like the best version of themselves – an extension of Erdem’s characters, forming an army of beautiful women. This look celebrates individuality by enhancing each model’s natural texture. A tailored approach ensures products are selected specifically for each model’s hair type. The key is minimal product use.”

Models with bobs had their hair tucked behind the ears and flyaways calmed with Hand And Hair Light Cream and Glow Spray Serum before being spritzed with Hydrate Serum for a neat, natural, pared-back overall look.

SS Daley’s was all about British classics reworked through hand-drawn prints, felted textures and voluminous silhouettes. In continuation of last season’s storytelling and exploration of feminine and masculine characters, the designer drew inspiration from female British artists in the early period of the 20th century.

“In line with Steven’s [Steven Stokey-Daley] vision,” Cofone says of the hair inspiration, “we explored the interplay of masculinity and femininity in both the men’s and women’s hairstyles. The looks feature beautifully crafted shapes that emphasise movement and volume – textural, ethereal yet controlled. For the women’s styles, we created structured shapes with rich texture, embodying both fragility and strength. Hair is swept back off the face for a contained, powerful look, while more feminine variations introduce ethereal moments by teasing out the hair. We used Authentic Beauty Concept’s Airy Texture Spray to enhance volume and the brand’s Glow Spray Serum to achieve a polished, controlled finish.
