The ‘bedhead bob’ is trending at Paris Fashion Week – here’s everything you need to know

Fashion week designers just cranked up the dial on effortless low maintenance hair, a trend that was first spotted at Prada in Milan and gathered momentum with designers including Chloé, Marie Adam-Leenaerdt and Cecilie Bahnsen in Paris.

Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons’s autumn/winter 2025 Prada show was all about rawness with refinement, and that included the clothes, accessories, venue and the standout beauty looks. Guido Palau created the hair looks for the show, which were bedhead-inspired, volumised, textured and free – as if the models had just rolled out of bed.

At Paris Fashion Week, the Chloé autumn/winter 2025 collection blended past inspirations – including the brand’s iconic Paddington bag – with elements of tradition and modernity, fusing opulence with a sense of effortless realism.

And it’s this realism that was brought to life through hair. Hairstylist Gary Gill created the looks at Chloé, working to create effortlessly chic and modern hair looks in line with the brand’s much-loved signature aesthetic.

Gill explains: “The idea is a confident girl who gets up, leaves the house and doesn’t mind if she sleeps on her hair – it’s all about a real, nice, gentle and easy feel. We wanted to create a look that felt organic yet refined – an effortless elegance that enhances each model’s natural beauty. The inspiration came from the essence of modern femininity, embracing texture and movement while maintaining a sense of softness. We used Authentic Beauty Concept products, including the Amplify Spray Conditioner, which I absolutely love, to achieve a weightless, lived-in finish that feels fresh and sophisticated.”

At Marie Adam-Leenaerdt’s autumn/winter show, timeless minimalism met bold oversized silhouettes. A conceptual approach with exaggerated proportions, rigid fabrics were married with functional, wearable wardrobe staples. Subtle, playful details were evident throughout the collection, including the bedhead hair that had a distinctly lived-in finish with plenty of texture and volume – all of which was a talking point among the guests.

Elliot Bute, stylist at Hershesons Fitzrovia says: “Move over big and bouncy. The bedhead bob is having another resurgence. It’s the ultimate cool-girl haircut and gives off an ‘I woke up like this’ feel. Undone hair has been on trend for quite a few years now, albeit mainly for long hair. The bedhead bob works well anywhere between your chin and shoulder; I think it’s very cool with a mix of classic rock-inspired elements. It’s perfect for those who want a low-maintenance cut that looks cool with very little styling.”

If you’re looking to recreate the style, Bute says: “The key to this look is soft, natural texture – avoid anything too structured. If you have naturally straight hair, adding layers or a razor-cut finish can create movement. Texture is key here. I use Hershesons Air Dry Spray, Zhoosh Foam or a lightweight salt spray. Rough dry and use your hands and a blow dryer rather than a brush. Add texture, if needed, and use a straightening iron or curling tongs/wand to create loose, lived-in feel.”

Ann Demeulemeester unveiled its autumn/winter 2025 collection last week in Paris, drawing inspiration from the brand’s heritage while integrating contemporary artistic collaborations. Lead hair stylist Anthony Turner used Schwarzkopf Professional’s premium styling range, Session Label, to create the 1970s inspired hair looks. He explains: “Taking inspiration from the 1970s and British rock band The Cult, we wanted to incorporate a sort of desert, witchy vibe. The two key products that we used to craft the looks were The Salt and The Texturizer from Schwarzkopf Professional’s Session Label range, adding elements such as ribbons and jewellery into the hair for a cool nomadic feel.”
