There’s no better time than award season to debut a brand new do. Here’s our roundup of the best beauty looks from the Golden Globes 2025.
It’s the first week of January, which can only mean one thing: it’s time for the Golden Globes. The 82nd annual awards welcomed a host of famous faces from our favourite films and TV shows as they celebrated another excellent year of storytelling.
The musical crime drama Emilia Pérez, fronted by Zoe Saldaña and Selena Gomez, won four awards, while Netflix’s Baby Reindeer took home two (including one for Jessica Gunning as best supporting actress).
Alongside this, the carpet was graced by the stars, dressed to the glittering, glamorous nines, including Euphoria’s Zendaya, The Substance’s Demi Moore, Wicked’s Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, Babygirl’s Nicole Kidman and Shōgun’s Anna Sawai.
To elevate their red carpet looks, many of the attendees debuted a hot new beauty trend, with bangs, slicked-back buns, soft glam shimmery eyeshadow and nostalgic early 2000s hairstyles all on display alongside spectacular surprise haircuts, gothic glam and old-school Hollywood styling. Here are all the best beauty looks from the Golden Globes 2025.
Emma Stone
The collective gasp at this pixie cut reveal cannot be understated. Emma Stone is no stranger to mixing up her hair, but this chic cut is enough to get anyone calling their hairdresser.
Zendaya
This coiffed curled bob completes Zendaya’s old Hollywood glam. Its a voluminous and nostalgic style that ties in perfectly with the custom Louis Vuitton and soft smoky eye.
Ariana Grande
Ariana Grande’s fresh, mellow yellow eyeshadow complemented the hue of her regency-inspired Givenchy gown, offering a soft, subtle look that allowed her dress to steal the spotlight. The side-swept fringe was a sweet touch too.
Cynthia Erivo
Forever our nail inspiration, we’re holding space for Cynthia Erivo’s Golden Globe nails. We also couldn’t help but notice the iconic Wicked green and pink hues in this set of acrylics in among the metallic tones.
Nicole Kidman
Nicole Kidman has reminded us that the voluminous high ponytail is never going out of style. Paired with the flick-curled ends, it’s a perfect statement hairstyle to accentuate the backless dress.
Michelle Yeoh
Wicked’s Michelle Yeoh also debuted a new look on the red carpet as she sported a block fringe. Yeoh has well and truly reignited our love for bangs; it’s a look that we’ll want long after award season, too.
Anya Taylor-Joy
Soft glam is well and truly in this year. Taylor-Joy complemented her dusty pink dress with soft pink eye shadow and a natural lip colour to create an effortless glow. The addition of the slicked-back bun only heightens the look.
Miley Cyrus
Miley Cyrus is making us feel nostalgic with this 00s-inspired hairstyle: a choppy block fringe, wispy front pieces and a twisted up-do – it’s divine. And with her hair swept up, it helps to keep the focus on the intricate diamond detailing on her gown.
Elle Fanning
The sweeping side fringe might be making a comeback after Elle Fanning debuted this mid-00s staple on the red carpet. We love how this blast from the past has been paired with a statement winged eyeliner.
Viola Davis
Nothing says evening attire like a deep bold lip, and Viola Davis has nailed this strong look, which is complemented by the warm pink blush and radiant metallic eyeshadow.
Dakota Fanning
Dakota Fanning has reminded us that a bright red lip is perfect for a colour-coordinated moment when wearing red.
Zoë Kravitz
Zoë Kravitz was sporting her go-to sleek hairstyle with a sharp slicked-back bun. It’s an ideal choice as it accentuates her neckline and the beautiful statement earrings.
Anna Sawai
Shōgun star Anna Sawai was one of many actors to opt for radiant natural make-up with a soft pink lip. All of which is perfectly paired with a swept up do with one wispy piece of hair remaining to showcase her stunning choker.
