Fringe hair inspiration: celebrities from Gigi Hadid to Selena Gomez show us how to rock stylish bangs
7 years ago
Fringes aren’t just for the playground. Celebrities have always shown that the hairstyle can look modern and chic. From Gigi Hadid to Selena Gomez, here’s a look at A-listers who rock the look effortlessly.
Fringes are funny ones. While the hairstyle is synonymous with checked dresses and hopscotch, celebrities have long shown how fringes can be edgy and chic. Style icons Farrah Fawcett and Jane Birkin caused stampedes to the hairdressers demanding their signature style, while recent Stylist cover star Jameela Jamil has effortlessly taken her fringe from childhood through adolescence and into adulthood.
If you’re considering going for the snip, there’s also a wide range of fringes to choose from. Whether it’s thick with a blunt cut a la Zooey Deschanel, short like Uma Thurman’s Mia Wallace in Pulp Fiction, or Emma Stone’s chunky side fringe; there’s a style to suit everyone and can be tailored to any face shape.
Here, we run through recent celebrity fringe transformations that are bound to give you inspiration for your next trip to the hairdressers.
Selena Gomez
Selena Gomez got a fringe snipped into her chic bob earlier this year – but now, the celebrity has taken her fringe to the next level.
Stepping away from blunt ends, Gomez has had her hairstyle revamped with a wispy side fringe.
The 25-year-old debuted her new modern look at the world premiere of Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation in California.
Gomez’s fringe was straightened and pieced apart, while a few longer strands of hair were curled to frame her face.
Gigi Hadid
From her various catwalk shows to multiple covershoots, we all know that Gigi Hadid can rock any look effortlessly. So, it’s no surprise that a fringe looks great on her.
A month ago, the 23-year-old model shared a video of her hair transformation on Instagram. As well as rocking on-trend wet hair, she had choppy fringe that fell just above her eyebrows.
Like her younger sister Bella, the fringe was sadly fake. However, we have a feeling that Gigi’s temporary transformation was enough to inspire a few people to visit their hairdressers.
Kelly Clarkson
Taking cues from the Sixties, Kelly Clarkson welcomed spring with a retro textured fringe.
The singer debuted her new hairstyle while performing at the UCLA Jonsson Cancer Centre Foundation’s 23rd Annual Taste for a Cure.
To highlight her look, Clarkson wore her hair in a top knot, while her fringe and a few wispy tendrils framed her face.
Bella Hadid
Frequent hair transformations is part and parcel of being a model. So, it’s no surprise that Bella Hadid has displayed a range of looks over her career.
Earlier this year, the 21-year-old shared a picture of herself rocking a wispy fringe for a Dior campaign. Alongside the picture she wrote, “I’ll be right here”.
While the new look suited her, it turned out that her new hairstyle was fake. Soon after, Bella was seen out and about sans fringe.
