Stylist speaks to Erdem Moralioglu, the man behind the collection, about his favourite pieces
Cult fashion designer Erdem Moralioglu has teamed up with make-up brand Nars to create Strange Flowers, a limited-edition collection featuring new packaging, new pigments and never-seen-before products.
Multi-use Highlighting Pencil in White Phox, £21
“This is great – it’s a completely new product. It has a kind of dewy glow to it and you can use it in so many different ways.”
Poison Rose Lip Powder Palette, £35
“This is my favourite product – use the balm first and layer the powders on top. Nars has never done anything like this before, so it feels really new. It has the most intense pigment and you can really mix and play with it.”
“Changing the classic Nars black and developing the soft-touch packaging in a custom colour wasn’t easy. The shade I chose is based on a wall colour in my London flagship store – I loved the idea of it reflecting part of my world.”
“I always wanted to create theperfect red lipstick – and this is it. I wanted something that would remind me of my mother. She didn’t wear much make-up except a strong red lip. It made her feel like she was armed and ready to go.”
Mattifying Blotting Paper, £15
“My sister always had Japanese papers in high school and that’s where the idea came from. They’re such a practical thing; they knock life back into make-up and help you feel amazing again.”
Erdem for Nars Strange Flowers collection is available from 12 April at Selfridges and the rest of the UK from 1 May (selfridges.com)
