If you’re someone who suffers from a sweaty hairline, you need to try one of these dry shampoos…

I don’t know about you, but come summer, one of my biggest beauty bugbears is my sweaty scalp. While others bemoan their sweaty upper lip or under-boob situation, my biggest annoyance is how all the heat seems to expel out of my head, causing frizz and a greasy-looking hairline.

It’s not ideal. I can’t wear hats (or if I do, I definitely can’t remove them), and there’s no point in straightening or blow-drying my hair because 10 minutes in the sun will result in my head sweating and my hairline reverting to its natural state: a halo of frizz, baby curls and cowlicks.

If this sounds familiar, there’s a summer beauty hack I’ve learned that can help. It’s all about getting ahead of the game. To avoid a sweaty hairline in the heat, use dry shampoo before you go outside and inevitably get hot. Even if you’ve got freshly washed hair, a generous application of dry shampoo around your hairline and nape of the neck will help mop up any beads of sweat before they have a chance to ruin your hair.

Want to give it a go? Below, I’ve rounded up my tried-and-tested favourite dry shampoos that work brilliantly for soaking up sweaty summer scalps. You’re welcome…

Hair by Sam McKnight Lazy Girl Dry Shampoo

Not only does this dry shampoo smell incredible (it’s like getting your hands on a Le Labo fragrance for a fraction of the price), it ensures your scalp won’t get greasy throughout the day.

Klorane Eco Friendly Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk

I personally think that this is one of the most underrated dry shampoos out there – and I’ve tried them all. It helps to absorb excess oils, dirt and odours from the roots with a variety of botanical-based ingredients. And the loose-powder formula sprays effortlessly onto the hair without depositing any white or chalky residue.

Living Proof Perfect Hair Day (PhD) Advanced Clean Dry Shampoo

If you want serious sweat-proofing, this is the dry shampoo for you. I wouldn’t use this on freshly washed hair (it’s so strong that it can feel quite drying) but it’s absolutely perfect for day two or three, especially if you’re going to be out in the sun.
