Pollution in the UK is getting worse, but are you taking measures to protect your skin? This moisturiser may be the answer…
We all know that air pollution is a big problem in the UK. So it’s not surprising that beauty hall shelves are filling up with an array of products aimed at protecting our skin against damaging air conditions.
One product that caught our attention is Clinique’s Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly (DDHJ), £31, a clever oil-free moisturiser created to hydrate and repair the skin’s moisture barrier while shielding skin from pollution.
A blend of sunflower seed cake, barley extract and cucumber fruit extract all work to make skin stronger and resilient against external aggressors.
When DDHJ dropped on the Stylist beauty desk, we were big fans of its lightweight texture. Ideal for those who don’t have the patience to wait for their creams and lotions to sink in (i.e. us), the non-sticky formula absorbs into the skin quickly and leaves it feeling refreshed.
What’s more, it also contains those all-important doses of glycerin and hyaluronic acid to deliver an intense hit of hydration to thirsty skin.
The new water-jelly sits alongside Clinique’s successful Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+, one of the brand’s most iconic skincare heroes. In fact, Clinique told Stylist that DDML+ is so successful, it sells more than 1,000 bottles every day.
Clinique has also given customers the chance to personalise their DDHJ. All you have to do is select a cartridge best suited to your skin (pick from irritation, uneven skintone, pores and uneven texture, tired-looking skin or fine lines) and pop it into your serum. Bespoke skincare at its finest.
