A powerhouse ingredient for brightening skin and boosting radiance, its no surprise that vitamin C is now making its way into our body care products too.
If you were to ask me what my favourite skincare ingredient is, I’d confidently tell you that it’s vitamin C. While hyaluronic acid is great for hydration, ceramides are key for soothing skin and SPF is a must, no other skincare ingredient really boosts my complexion quite like vitamin C.
If you’re unfamiliar with the ingredient, let’s rewind for a minute. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that helps to not only protect your skin against free radicals and environmental factors such as pollution but, over time, it also works to brighten and even out skin tone and pigmentation.
I’ve previously waxed-lyrical about the visible effects I’ve seen when consistently using vitamin C in my routine, so you can probably guess how happy I am that the hero antioxidant is making its way into our body care products, too.
As vitamin C is brilliant for brightening skin and fading hyperpigmentation, it makes sense to apply it to our body too (goodbye chest pigmentation and sun spots). It also helps to provide double the protection for our skin – it neutralises harmful free radicals (like pollution and UV rays), adds another layer of protection and helps to boost the effectiveness of SPF.
