5 playful, powerful products that the Stylist beauty team can’t be without

By Stylist Beauty Team

From a shimmery summer palette to a delectably easy-to-use body moisturiser, these are the best products our beauty team have tried this month.

Every week, Stylist’s award-winning beauty team get their hands on the most exciting new make-up, skincare and fragrance launches. That means they get to road-test products before they’re available in shops – and possess a wealth of knowledge about ingredients, formulas and which items are actually worth spending money on.

Want to tap into that insider knowledge? Now you can. Once a month, the beauty team shout about the products they can’t stop using in our new weekly email newsletter, Stylist Loves Beauty.

Maybe beauty writer Hanna Ibraheem has tried a new perfume by a boutique brand that she thinks everyone should know about. Beauty editor Lucy Partington might have discovered an affordable vitamin C serum that’s just as effective as its luxury rivals. Or junior beauty writer Ava Welsing-Kitcher could be raving about a mask that actually works on curly hair. Whatever they’re using and re-using, they’ll let you know in Stylist Loves Beauty first.

Charlotte Tilbury Glowgasm Palette in Lovegasm

Charlotte Tilbury Glowgasm Palette in Lovegasm

“While it might be the beauty equivalent of (not-so-groundbreaking) florals for spring, the allure of luminous skin in the summer time will never dull down – and Charlotte Tilbury’s silk-satin Glowgasm Face Palette knocks radiance up a whole notch. Layer the two highlighters along your cheekbones for dimension, pop the rosy blush on the apples of your cheeks for a healthy flush and finish with the warm bronzer to contour. Easy, yet very effective.”

Sanctuary Spa Wet Skin Radiance Jelly

Sanctuary Spa Wet Skin Radiance Jelly

“I’m a serial body moisturiser. Nothing, not even a cold, dank public swimming pool changing room, will stop me going top-to-toe after I shower. Which is why Sanctuary Spa’s Wet Skin Radiance Jelly has been such a happy surprise. Apply it when wet, before you’ve even got out of the shower, and that’s it – just towel dry as normal. Hydrated skin, yes. Delightful summery watermelon scent, winning. More time to do my make-up, no excuses.”

Bouclème Super Hold Styler

Bouclème Super Hold Styler

“I’ve got a strict formula when it comes to styling my hair after washing: apply tiny amounts of conditioner and gel to soaking wet strands, squeeze with a towel, then cross my fingers it turns out OK. Bouclème’s Super Hold Styler (launching end of May) houses the nurturing power of a leave-in conditioner with the strength and flexibility of a non-sticky gel, and a little goes a long way. Mixed with water, it revives day-two curls beautifully.”

Yves Saint Laurent Caban Eau De Parfum

“I don’t have a signature scent: instead, I go through phases. But there’s always an exception to that rule, and that exception comes in the form of Yves Saint Laurent’s Caban EDP. It’s not new, but I’ve only recently discovered it. Sexy and cosy, with notes of rose, pink pepper and tonka, it’s somehow familiar but different to anything I’ve ever smelt before. It also brings in a lot of compliments, which is never a bad thing.”

Uoma Black Magic Colour Palette

Uoma

“Rihanna’s groundbreaking Fenty Beauty has paved the way for more inclusive beauty brands, and we’re here for it. Our latest favourite is Uoma, an empowering range created by former beauty executive Sharon Chuter. Highlights include the Say What?! Foundation (£29.50), which comes in six formulas catering to the needs of different skin tones, and the Black Magic Colour Palette in Allure (£43). Who can resist those beautiful colours?”
