Calling all beauty aficionados. Stay up to date with Stylist beauty writer Darcy Brown’s roundup of the best new launches.
The beauty industry is the gift that keeps on giving. Each month, exciting new launches land on my desk that never fail to surprise me with their innovative formulations or exciting collaborations.
From an exciting new take on my beloved blemish solution (thank you, La Roche-Posay) to a pretty pink lineup in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month, it’s safe to say September really has delivered the goods.
Allow me to introduce you to the best beauty launches in September 2023.
Best new beauty launches for September 2023
La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo+M Anti-Blemish Corrective Gel Moisturiser
If you’re a fan of La Roche Posay’s Effaclar Duo, you’ll be as excited as I was when you hear about this new addition to their blemish-busting lineup. It uses salicylic acid to unclog pores and prevent future breakouts, targets the spots that are already there and improves stubborn pigmentation that serves as a reminder of what once was. They weren’t wrong when they promised you could expect rapid results in eight hours; when I woke up, my spots felt much less painful and prominent, and the post-acne on my cheeks had significantly faded. I am impressed.

Fenty Beauty Shadowstix Longwear Eyeshadow Stick
I will admit my collection of eyeshadow sticks is getting out of hand. Can you blame me? They serve to provide a foolproof solution to transform any eye look. And if this one is good enough for Rihanna, then it is good enough for me. As a brand that prides itself on shade inclusivity, this collection’s real selling point is that it promises to provide a shade that matches your complexion. Its formula is next-level creamy, swiping over the eyes instantly without tugging or creasing.

Hair By Sam McKnight Cool Girl Volume Nourish
As a lover of a bouncy blow-dry, I will try just about anything that promises to boost my hair’s volume. However, the last place I look to include volumising powers is in my conditioner, as I like to reserve that step in my hair routine to nourish and hydrate. This volumising conditioner promises to do both. Its ultra-nourishing yet impressively lightweight formula leaves hair thicker and full of volume. The result is a fresh-out-of-the-salon feel.

Byredo & Susanne Kaufmann: The Bregenzerwald Collection
Where skincare and fragrance meet, this collaboration sees two powerhouse brands create the ultimate self-care lineup. The body oil gifts silky smooth skin while energising the senses with a forest-inspired scent. And the fragrance oil makes the perfect travel companion. Taking myself out for a daily nature walk is a non-negotiable in my routine, and these additions turn that moment of mindfulness into an all-day mood.

ghd Gold Hair Straightener in Pink Peach
ghd’s annual pink campaign has arrived in time for Breast Cancer Awareness month, and I think 2023’s peachy hue is their most aesthetic yet. It marks 20 years of supporting breast cancer charities, raising over £19 million worldwide. Each purchase donates £10 to Breast Cancer Now or €10 to the Irish Cancer Society and comes with a complimentary zip bag with a powerful ‘Take Control Now’ slogan.
Soho Skin Face Oil
I love to embrace darker nights by incorporating a facial massage into my evening skincare routine. Autumn’s temperature drop always leaves my skin crying out for hydration, so this new face oil has arrived at the perfect time of year. Rich oils melt into the skin without leaving any greasy residue behind, and they treat it to omegas and skin-defending antioxidants.
Only Curls x Denman D3 Original Styler Brush
It’s safe to say that Only Curls’ hair care formulas know a thing or two about caring for coils and curls. So, its collaboration with the ultimate curl styling companion, the Denman D3, calls for celebration. After summer left my hair frazzled, I tried to lay off the heat styling and embrace my natural hair texture. This brush is a must-have to untangle locks and enhance curl patterns.

Kylie Skin Lip Oil
Kylie Jenner’s lips have had significantly more attention than the average person’s, so you can place a confident bet that any lip launch in her arsenal is top standard. This month, she launched her cult favourite lip oil in three new fruity flavours, giving me all kinds of 90s nostalgia. Unlike the sticky formulas of yesteryear, this delivers all the gloss in a nourishing balm finish.
No7 Derm Solutions Skin Balancing Serum
If you have a specific skincare concern, this new range from No7 will likely have the solution. Amongst the offerings is this made-for-everyone balancing serum. It comes back with a cocktail of the most sought-after skincare ingredients that restore balance by targeting oiliness and dryness, all while improving skin texture and tone. A big win if, like me, your combination skin type leaves you both dry, shiny and confused.

Sculpted by Aimee Shape & Set Brow Duo
This one-and-done brow-transforming product has already become a holy grail in my make-up bag: it has everything you need to create any brow look in one compact pen. From fluffy to sculpted, the angled tip fills, sculpts and defines your brows just how you like them. On the other end, a clear brow gel locks your look in place and promises not to budge all day.
Living Proof Full Texturising Foam
Living Proof products have made their way into my routine in more ways than one. The latest trio to launch provides the tools you need to send your hair to new heights. Apply this volumising foam to damp hair and allow a thickening blend with a next-generation delivery system that boosts texture, thickness and volume. As experts in styling products, you can take added heat protection up to 232ºC as a given.
