Calling all beauty aficionados! Stay up to date with Stylist beauty writer Darcy Brown’s round-up of the best new launches.
Being a beauty writer definitely has its perks, especially when you’re privy to all the inside information on the latest releases. Still, after spending a good amount of time in this industry, the batch of new products that landed on my desk this month has left me seriously impressed.
August has proven to be quite the treat for beauty enthusiasts, with some notable new arrivals – from a beloved fashion house making its breakthrough in beauty to iconic collaborations and routine products I didn’t know I needed.
Here is my curated selection of top launches you need to know about.
Rhode Strawberry Glaze Peptide Lip Treatment
Log on to TikTok and let the beauty lover’s algorithm guide you to at least one of the 217.9 million videos showcasing #strawberrymakeup. Once again, Hailey Bieber has broken the internet with the latest drop in her infamous lip glaze line-up. An exclusive collaboration with Krispy Kreme in line with the launch saw the doughnut haven relaunch its iconic strawberry glaze doughnut to mark the occasion. Beauty has never been so delicious.

Charlotte Tilbury x Disney100 Beauty Wishes Velvet Make-up Bag
Charlotte Tilbury and Disney share a common purpose: to make dreams come true. So it seemed written in the stars that this month marked the alignment of 100 years of Disney and 10 years of Charlotte Tilbury Beauty. A celebratory collaboration saw both dimensions collide as the Queen of Glow and Tinkerbell united in both a 2D Walt Disney Animation and on limited edition products IRL. My favourite has to be this Tinkerbell adorned make-up bag. Iconic.

Sol de Janeiro x Asos Exclusive Limited Edition After Hours Perfume Mist
Sol de Janeiro’s summer-inspired fragrance line-up equipped beauty lovers like me with a signature scent for the sunny season. And as the warm days draw to a close, you can imagine my excitement at this limited-edition launch, which landed on my desk just in time for autumn. Intoxicating blackcurrant and pear nectar illuminate amber woods in a comforting and addictive evening scent. Try it before anyone else does!

Briogeo Scalp Revival Charcoal and Tea Tree Buildup Detox Spray
AHAs and BHAs have gained quite a reputation in skincare thanks to their ability to offer gentle exfoliation to the skin. It was about time they made their way into haircare. This detoxifying scalp spray uses chemical exfoliants to unclog congested hair follicles and gently break down stubborn product build-up and flakes from the scalp. Just what your post-summer hair was looking for.

Prada Reveal Skin Optimising Refillable Foundation
This month saw a particularly iconic Italian fashion house make its monumental mark in the world of cosmetics in the name of Prada Beauty. From avant-garde designs to forward-thinking formulas, the range of make-up and skincare epitomises everything it is to be Prada. For me, the refillable foundation took centre stage in the brand’s offering. Its coverage strikes the perfect balance between matte and dewy, and a 33-shade range puts undertones at utmost importance.

Merit Beauty Solo Shadow
While nothing is more pleasing to the eye than a 15-shade shadow palette, I tend to use my two go-to hues before neglecting the rest. Merit created a solution I didn’t know I needed by returning to the 90s one-pot era, with their latest launch consisting of a streamlined range of eight wearable solo shadow shades. The range contains four staple neutrals and four statement colours to suit all eye colours.
Laura Mercier RoseGlow Liquid Highlighter
Like the rest of the beauty world, I am all about a rosy glow this season. This month, Laura Mercier expanded their RoseGlow line-up into highlighters, making my dewy skin goals even more accessible. Three blushing hues are available: light pink, champagne gold and warm rose. This blush-meets-highlighter formula has created the perfect addition to my make-up routine.

Fresh Rose Morning Body & Hand Wash
For me, my beauty routine is the ultimate act of self-care. So when a new morning ritual landed on my desk, I couldn’t wait to try it. A pH-perfect formula treats your hands and body with skin-smoothing vitamin C and glycerin. And when activated with water, a fresh rose blooms around you to provide the perfect wake-up call.
By Terry Hyaluronic Glow Setting Mist
I didn’t know I needed this make-up-meets-skincare setting spray, but it has become a must-have addition to my routine. A jam-packed formula blends a hydrating hyaluronic blend with antioxidant-rich camellia japonica and a generous dose of probiotics and ceramides. You can use it in several ways as a make-up primer, setter, protector or refresher. My make-up has never lasted longer, nor has my skin felt more balanced and smooth. I’m seriously impressed.
