Whether you’re looking to shake up your beauty routine, get insider access to the best experts around or simply just love discussing all things beauty, these are the podcasts you need to start listening to…
We may only be a month into the year, but we’ve already seen a long list of beauty trends come under the spotlight, including the ‘kitty cut’ and red shades dominating our make-up bags. Of course, it can be hard to keep on top of it all (as somebody who lives and breathes beauty, even I struggle), which is where beauty podcasts come in.
Whether it’s Fat Mascara’s insider access,
Fat Mascara
Beauty journalists Jessica Matlin and Jennifer Sullivan are the brains behind this hugely popular podcast. With an episode dropping twice every week, they delve into the big zeitgeist topics of the moment, interview the buzziest names in the industry and share their expert advice and recommendations along the way.
Outspoken Beauty
Hosted by beauty columnist and broadcaster Nicola Bonn, Outspoken Beauty is, as the title suggests, a refreshingly honest take on discussing the industry. It frequently features a wide range of experts, from make-up artists to campaigners, and unpicks the latest beauty news in a way that leaves you feeling not only entertained but informed.
Smell Ya Later
Ever stopped and thought about the way scent plays a part in our everyday lives? Smell Ya Later, created by beauty journalists Tynan Sinks and Sable Yong, is a must-listen for its insightful, thoughtful and educational approach to exploring the art of fragrance. Plus, you’re bound to want to add to your own perfume collection after listening.
BeautyMe with Charisse Kenion
This is a great option for anybody who likes to look at beauty through multiple lenses. It explores the intersection of beauty and wellness, features brilliant five-minute product reviews (the perfect listen if you’re making a cup of tea) and easy-to-digest weekly round-ups.
Gloss Angeles
Gloss Angeles is a must-listen for all beauty lovers. Hosted by beauty journalists Kirbie Johnson and Sara Tan, this podcast is like catching up with two friends. They look at all the big beauty talking points of the moment, not only across make-up, skin and wellness but also pop culture and entertainment, while occasionally sharing the mic with an impressive roster of expert and celebrity guests, including Scarlett Johansson and Hailey Bieber.
Beauty Full Lives
Featuring the likes of Hyram Yarbro, Alicia Silverstone, Lisa Eldridge and Aimee Connolly, every episode of this podcast includes a guest who shares the challenges and triumphs of their lives. Along the way, they talk through special beauty memories and how they played a role along the way.
Black Haircare Matters
Queen QuayMo created this podcast to shine a light on loving and embracing your natural Black hair. But alongside this, she shares a wealth of knowledge and tips to help readers on their journey, including everything you need to know about locs, when to clarify your scalp and the difference between hydrating and moisturising your hair.
Fume Chat
Recognising that perfume can often be a serious topic in the beauty industry, fragrance experts Nick Gilbert and Thomas Dunckley began Fume Chat to spritz (pun very much intended) some fun into the topic.
