From a self-waving hair tool to a universal eyeshadow palette, here’s what our beauty director loved in November

Each month, Stylist’s beauty director discovers a bevy of new launches across skincare, hair care, fragrance and make-up – here are the ones that she keeps going back to.

We’ve also officially reached the end of November, meaning the countdown to Christmas (and countless screenings of The Holiday) can truly begin. But before you crack open that first door on your beauty advent calendar, there are so many brilliant launches from the past month worth taking notice of.

From the face moisturiser I can only describe as a hug for your skin to the lip stain proven to stay put through copious amounts of mulled wine and mince pies, here are the products I couldn’t stop using throughout the month of November. Who knows, you may even find some gift inspiration in the line up, too…

Naturium KP Body Scrub & Mask

Naturium KP Body Scrub & Mask

As I begin to switch up my skincare routine to cater to the biting temperatures outside, I’ve been reconsidering my body routine, too. Viral brand Naturium has released a clever 3-in-1 body exfoliant that contains pumice, jojoba esters and AHA, BHA and PHA chemical exfoliants. This powerful line-up transforms any hints of bumpy, rough, dry or dull skin, making it feel smoother and softer.

Jones Road Beauty The Eyeshadow Palette 2.0

It’ll come as a surprise to nobody that legendary make-up artist Bobbi Brown has created the eyeshadow palette for the season. It contains four shades, each of which are incredibly versatile – in fact, not a single one of the pans will go untouched, like you may find with other palettes. In the line-up, you’ll find two deep browns, a cream and a golden shimmer to help create anything from a full-on glam smokey eye, to a simple and neutral look.

Diptyque Coton (Cotton) Classic Candle

Diptyque Coton (Cotton) Classic Candle

It wouldn’t be a wintery beauty round-up without a cosy candle. For this year’s Christmas offering, Diptyque has given some of its most popular scents a festive makeover. My favourite, Coton (aka Cotton), is a blend of cotton, tonka bean, musk and iris notes, plus it has been poured into a vessel adorned with blue and gold flickering flames. The perfect addition to my coffee table.

Skin Rocks The Rich Moisturiser

Skin Rocks The Rich Moisturiser

Skincare expert Caroline Hirons has taken her popular The Moisturiser and taken it up a notch with The Rich Moisturiser. Ever since I first applied this buttery cream, I haven’t been able to stop using it every night. The thick, comforting texture is formulated with a blend of barrier-strengthening ceramides and lipid-rich oils that work to improve your skin barrier and your skin’s ability to retain water. Every time I use it, I wake up with glowing skin.

E45 Face Hydrating Serum

E45 Face Hydrating Serum

…Can you tell me and my dehydrated skin are all about packing in hydration at the moment? During this time of year, I like to base my entire skincare routine around thirst-quenching formulas – so I was thrilled to see skin favourites E45 launch a new collection about this. The serum is formulated with hyaluronic acid, microalgae and sea water, all of which team up to leave skin restored, nourished and hydrated.

Liberty LBTY. Fragrance Zephirine Eau de Parfum

Liberty LBTY. Fragrance Zephirine Eau de Parfum

When Liberty London launched its eponynous fragrance brand, there was a buzz of excitement across the industry. For starters, each of the perfumes come in packaging decorated with one of five iconic archival Liberty prints. Then there’s the scents themselves, with each one created to evoke an idea or a feeling. My favourite, Zephirine, is inspired by flora, fauna and figa waiting to be picked. It contains notes of fig leaves and rose petals layered with leather and vetiver notes for a woody yet floral finish with every spritz.

Makeup By Mario Moisture Plumping Lip Color

Makeup By Mario Moisture Plumping Lip Color

As somebody with hyperpigmentation on their lips, I like to add a hint of colour to my make-up looks, and this Makeup By Mario launch is perfect for this time of the year. It utilises water-infused innovation for a formula that’s weightless on the lips and leaves a glossy shine. Plus, there are so many nice shades to choose from – I love Mulberry (pictured), the perfect soft plum colour for winter.

Officine Universelle Buly Baumes des Muses

Officine Universelle Buly Baumes des Muses

Lip balm is an all-round staple for me, but I particularly rely on it during winter. As I’m pulling it out of my handbag more often, I often apply it more than I do lipstick, so using something this fancy is the ultimate treat. It’s formulated with ultra nourishing ingredients, such as shea butter, castor oil, rice bran and vegetable waxes, while vitamin E keeps lips soft and protected. Plus, its housed in the chicest packaging of all time: a little box (there are lots of coloured to choose from), which can be personalised with gold embossed letters.
