The moon changes signs every two to two and a half days, and it passes through all 12 signs of the zodiac every 27 and a third days (to be precise). The new moon in Scorpio means the beginning of a new six-month lunar cycle begins at this point of the zodiac.

“This lunar phase is particularly powerful as it invites introspection, renewal and emotional deep dives as we head into the last few months of the year, helping prepare us for what 2025 has to offer,” says Jones. “It also aligns heavily with Scorpio’s themes of rebirth and renewal, making it a powerful time to set intentions for growth, transformation and emotional healing.”

The new moon in Scorpio falls on Friday 1 November. The sun will begin to set at 4.51pm on this day, so you can expect to start seeing the moon appear then.

The new moon in Scorpio is about change, so prepare to embrace the transformation on the horizon. “This new moon carries the energy of profound change and offers a chance to manifest change before winter hits,” explains Jones. “Scorpio’s strong influence on this new moon means it’s the perfect time to face your demons, let go of what no longer serves you and plant seeds for long-term transformation. This means finding the strength to confront or cut out those in your life that damage your peace, or changing your routine to truly serve you.”

This period can also make you feel compelled to explore deep emotions, so Jones suggests activities such as journaling, therapy or simply having heartfelt conversations with those around you. 

According to Jones, the following signs will experience the greatest impact during the new moon in Scorpio:

Scorpio

Given its position, it’s no surprise that this sign will experience the effects of the new moon intensely. “Scorpios will feel this new moon most strongly, amplifying their emotional energy and intuition and providing them with a powerful opportunity for rebirth and transformation,” says Jones. “It’s a chance to embrace emotional growth, shed old layers and step into a more empowered version of themselves. There may be a sense of renewal and they may feel an increased connection to their intuition, making it a perfect time to trust their inner voice.”

Cancer and Pisces

Apparently, Cancers and Pisceans may also feel emotionally sensitive during the new moon, but in a more nurturing and healing way, Jones explains. “Cancers may find themselves more intensively focused on home and family, exploring deeper emotional ties and boundaries with their loved ones,” she says. “Pisces, however, may find their dreams and spirituality heightened, with this new moon offering clarity on how to heal emotionally from past wounds or current dilemmas.”

Fixed signs

Fixed signs such as Taurus, Leo and Aquarius will also be significantly affected, adds Jones. “Scorpio’s intense energy challenges their need for stability and control,” she says. “However, during this new moon, these signs may feel a call to release old habits or structures that no longer serve their growth, particularly in areas related to personal transformation and deep emotional shifts.”
