With more people than ever looking to launch their start-ups online, we thought it was high time we shared the secrets of success with budding entrepreneurs. So it was off to the extraordinary Google offices (where the canteen has its own ice cream truck) for an evening of expert advice from the biggest names in the digital business world. After inspiring tips from Emma Thorn, Google’s marketing manager, Carrie Longton, one half of the duo who set up Mumsnet in 2000, my-wardrobe.com’s Sarah Curran, Tamara Heber-Percy from Mr and Mrs Smith and Google’s ‘top online entrepreneur’, Shelly Hoppe, it was time for a glass of bubby, canapés, networking, and financial advice sessions with venture capitalist Tracy Dorée. Google were also on-hand to help, with an interactive area for guests to set up their own free domain name.
