This week's lunchtime masterclass is with Sharmadean Reid, nail artist and creator of the WAH Nails salon in Dalston.
Frustrated at the absence of the cool, trend-setting nail salons in London that were commonplace in LA and New York, the stylist (and editor of the WAH blog), opened WAH Nails in a few minutes from her Dalston home in 2009 – and it quickly became a local hub and the go-to salon for fashion forward nails.
Amassing a loyal clientele and creating a flood of nail-art aficionados, WAH Nails enjoyed huge success from its launch, opening an outpost in Topshop Oxford Circus in February 2010 and in Stratford this year. The Wah Nails book of Nail Art, featuring step-by-step tips and techniques, has also just been published.
