Linda Grant, managing director of free morning newspaper Metro, joined us for a lunchtime masterclass.
In 1999 Linda joined the just launched Metro newspaper, owned by the Daily Mail & General Trust (DMGT), as head of planning. A year later she was promoted to marketing director for the brand. As part of the founding senior management team she was a key player in building the award-winning Metro brand, sales approach and Urbanite audience understanding that Metro is still known for today
Linda then moved onto be managing director of the national commercial division of Capital Radio Group Plc., with responsibility for the delivery of all of the group’s national revenues from airtime, sponsorship and promotions as well as commercial marketing, digital development, creative, data and consumer insight.
In 2005, Linda joined DMGT for the second time as group marketing services director for A&N Media. In March 2011, she was appointed managing director of A&N Media’s free division, with responsibility for Metro newspaper and its sister brands 7Days in Dubai and Metro Herald in Dublin.
Linda is a member of WACL (Women in Advertising and Communication London), a business leader member of The Marketing Society and a fellow of the RSA.
