We’ve fallen hook, line and sinker for Stacie Swift’s whimsical illustrations and stationery.
Stacie Swift Illustrations first came to our attention during the Lunchtime Masterclass we held a couple of weeks ago on creative start-ups with Tatty Devine’s Rosie Wolfenden and former Dragon’s Den star Doug Richard. Illustrator Stacie included a link to her website with her question and we felt duty-bound to check out her work – and we’re glad we did.
Aimed at big and little kids alike, Stacie’s drawings focus on one of our favourite subjects – cute animals. However, although her greetings cards, stationery and art prints feature a menagerie of colourful characters - from tweeting birds to dancing foxes and even a lion, a bear, a tiger and an elephant doing acrobatics – there’s always a knowing twinkle of humour in their eyes that stops her cast of creatures becoming too cutesy and saccharine.
Inspired by a love of animals and a penchant for stationery, Stacie started designing her greetings cards while studying for a BA in Illustration at Middlesex University, expanding the line upon graduation in 2011 to include party invitations, art prints, recipe cards and notebooks. The range is still continuing to grow with wrapping paper and bespoke stationery pieces planned for later this year.
With an Etsy shop, stockists throughout the UK and even in Australia, expect to see Stacie Swift Illustrations on a wall or mantelpiece near you.
