Topshop reveal Kate Bosworth as the face of their first ever Christmas campaign

Brand release film and aim for Christmas number 1

Today (4 December) Topshop announce actress Kate Bosworth as the face of their very first Christmas campaign, the Winter Wonderland interactive musical Christmas movie.

Directed by acclaimed Hollywood film director Michael Polish (Kate Bosworth’s boyfriend), the cinematic production was inspired by the piano scene starring Michelle Pfeiffer in The Fabulous Baker Boys.

Performing Winter Wonderland, Bosworth wears a custom-made Topshop dress, designed in partnership with the design team, and Topshop make-up. Both the dress and shoes will be available to consumers to mark the opening of the Topshop LA store in February 2013, whilst the make-up used will be available to order immediately from topshop.com.

The film will be broadcast across various channels, from social media and topshop.com, to billboards and in cinemas. Topshop are even hoping for their first number 1 with the campaign, with the song and film available through itunes, Shazam and Spotify.

After five days of speculation with their #whosthatgirl campaign (where users were invited to guess the star of the campaign through a series of obscured pictures of the actress next to London landmarks), the big reveal has been hugely hyped on social media.

Kate Phelan, Creative Director of Topshop said that " Kate looks effortlessly cool in this film, her voice is spellbinding and I can imagine every girl will want to be wearing Topshop this Christmas when they see her performance”.

Kate Bosworth said of the collaboration: "This project brings together two important aspects of my life: cinema and fashion. I have always been a fan of the Topshop brand and it has been an honour to work with Sir Phillip and the team. I hope everyone enjoys watching it as much as we did making it."
